	本書原文的作者多數是女性主義地理學界巨擘型學者，他們已對這個研究領域投入一生的時間與精神，並在全球性別研究中扮演舉足輕重的角色，或在大學中教授女性主義地理學課程，或指導性別地理研究論文的學者，並對高等教育性別地理學有深刻的影響。透過此譯本的引介，希望能讓華文讀者分享這些經典的作品。期待讀者看過之後能因感動而投入這個領域，使女性主義地理學能源遠流長，這將不是最後一本女性主義地理學翻譯本。　　Gender, Society and Space—Selected translations is a significant text developed from the class of the same name that has been taught by Prof. Nora Chiang at the Department of Geography, National Taiwan University for the last ten years. The fourteen selected papers are grouped into three sections: “Theory and Conceptualization of Issues,” “Empirical Research on Class, Ethnicity, and Mobility,” and “Methodology and Practice.” The original works were written in English by distinguished scholars in the field of feminist geography in the western world. 	作者簡介姜蘭虹主編　　國立台灣大學　地理環境資源學系名譽教授　　曾擔任台灣大學地理學系主任、人口與性別研究中心主任、台灣人口學會理事長、屏東科技大學人文暨社會學院院長及台大理學院副院長。1976年以來，出版學術論文將近一百多篇。近期出版書藉有：Asian Women: Gender, Migration, and Work (2009), Immigrant Adaptation in Multi-Ethnic Societies: Canada, Taiwan, and the United States (2013)，《地理思想讀本》(2014) 等。曾經擔任《台大地理學報》、《婦女與兩性研究學刊》及《人口學刊》主編以及數個國內外期刊編輯委員。畢業於香港大學地理與地質學系，兩次赴美求學，獲得碩、博士學位。1971年從美國移民來台，成為屏東內埔媳婦，啟發我對族群、性別角色與人口流動的好奇與研究。　宋郁玲副主編　　國立彰化師範大學　地理學系副教授　　出生於台北，一個美濃客家城鄉移民的五千金家庭。自幼因父母重視教育，且家中無兄弟作為資源分配不均的對照，因此終能搭上主流價值，獲得一口飯吃。但逢年過節在大家族聚會中，始終瞭解，沒有男孩的家庭，常成為關切的焦點，因為在那個時代，這叫做「遺憾」，它也成為一支點燃我女性意識的星星之火。　　目前開設「性別、空間與社會」，以及「人口地理學」、「全球化與人口遷移」等課程。研究多集中在中國都市發展下的人口遷移議題，包括都市拆遷、中產階級居住流動、城市新移民的社會流動。性別角色差異也是研究中關注的面向。
